Food Drive & Meal Kit Packing Event Update

Help with food insecurity in our local community!

Come to a hands-on, multigenerational service project this Sunday, November 23 in the Bluestem Room starting at 11:30 am. Everyone is invited to join - no donation is necessary!

We will be packaging four different types of shelf-stable complete meal kits that use canned and boxed food. They don't need to be refrigerated and they don't require extra ingredients like butter or milk. These meals are easy to make and accessible for anyone with a kitchen: families on a budget, seniors, or anyone who might not have regular access to fresh food.

Thank you to EVERYONE for your generous donations so far. We will be able to make more than 100 Meal Kits on Friday because of your help.

More than half of the list of needed supplies have been donated and we have collected $1150 to purchase the rest on Saturday. You can still sign up through midnight on Friday to contribute items or make a donation to help us purchase what we need.

Complete meal kits will be used in our Little Free Pantry, given to CU Mutual Aid for their grassroots support, and donated to an Urbana food pantry (TBA).

We hope you will come to this fun and educational event.
